Since 2015, Vashon Events has been very pleased to offer a music instrument library so that everyone can have a chance to learn to play music! It's the perfect way to check one out before spending a lot of money on purchasing an instrument. Borrow an instrument and try it out. This library is meant for our Island community, a way to pay it forward and we've noticed that it is pretty equal in terms of youth and adults that are interested in and loaning out these instruments.
Special thanks to those who have donated instruments: Ned Lecky, Richard Gordon, John Short, Kenny Alton, Christopher O'Brien, Jennifer & Carl Olsen, Scott & Kendra Carness, John Van Amerongen, Sue Johnson, Richard Rogers, Sandi Silagi, Drew Piston, Michelle Reed, Phil Royal, Peter Serko, Will Forrester, Fiona Hope, Laurie Stewart, Bridget Shore, Debra Heesch, Patty Hieb, Laird Gonter, Sarah Jane Schosboek, Hugh Turner, Bob Krinsky, Lennon Bronsema, Tiffany Pratt Schira, Abby Enson, Susan Riemer, Jeff Bronson, Michele Batchelder, Robin Branstator, Lauri Hennessey, Andrea Walker, Chuck Roehm, Rick Vanselow, Laurel Saville, Scott Durkee, Don Amick, Kaycie Alanis, Jason Lollar, Melanie Salonen, Jason Everett, Steve Amsden, Russell Baker, Brian Wolcott, Nancy Oppegaard and Joe Panzetta for donating the instruments. A special thank you to Kathryn Sposato for donating several music instruments to Vashon Events that belonged to her late husband Jack Barbash - a wonderful man that Allison and I both loved very much.
Thank you so much to John L. Scott Vashon for providing funding to maintain the instruments in the library and a grant from King County to help increase outreach about this project. You must be a Vashon Island resident to borrow any of these instruments and the item MUST stay on Vashon.
