band bio:

Named for an heirloom tomato, The Mortgage Lifters play upbeat Swing music from the first half of the last century, some true-to-the-era originals, a few sing-alongs, and several world beat tunes. Like their namesake, this tasty band “starts off mild, and then builds, with a long finish on the palate. It has a roasted, fruity and slightly salty flavor.”

The Mortgage Lifters are Kim Thal, Robert Hinrix, Johnny Calcagno and Tony Mates. They play fiddle, guitar, ukulele, mandolin and upright bass- and they all sing.

Hailing from Seattle and Vashon Island, ML members play in many other fine bands, including “BeSides,” “Fendershine,” “The Na Hilahila Boys,” “Zazou,” and “Peckin’ Out Dough.”

You’re bound to enjoy The Mortgage Lifters mix of delectable music, 3-part harmonies and relaxing mayhem.
