Vashon Artists Delve “Into the Woods”
“Into the Woods - natural and supernatural beauty,” is the latest show at Outstanding In Its Field Gallery, October 4 - 26, 2025. Thirteen Vashon artists explore the autumn forest from brilliant landscapes to hints of the macabre in watercolors, pastels, sculpture, linocut prints, wooden bowls, lighted sculpture, photography, and jewelry. A portion of the proceeds benefits the Vashon Land Trust. The Gallery is located at 10524 S.W. 188th St, just west of Sawbones, and will be open Saturdays - Sundays, Noon – 4 pm, and weekdays by appointment by calling 206.419.0199. Info at OutstandingGallery.com.
The First Saturday celebration, October 4th, from 5 pm to 8 pm, will include the chance to meet the artists, enjoy fresh-baked seasonal treats, hot cider, and a free mini Tarot card reading from Liz Peterson (sessions are limited).
The Spirits of Autumn presents pastel paintings from Barbara Benedetti Newton and Janeen Bramwell, cast-glass and enamel jewelry by Julia Gombert, linocut and monotype prints by Brian Fisher and Lynn McClain, Raku ceramics by Chuck Bonsteel, ceramic vases from Cecilia Kane, photography by Jim Diers, watercolors from Catherine Gill, turned wooded bowls from Steve Caldwell, lighted mushroom sculptures from Mary McGinnis, acrylics from Jude Boardman, and bas relief bronze sculpture and etched glass from White Hart Art.
Outstanding In Its Field Gallery is open May - October each year with monthly themed exhibits that almost exclusively feature Vashon Island Artists. The gallery will also be open for the VIVA Art Studio Tour in December.
