Tim Couldn’t Make It presents: “The Go Away Rick Party”
Wine Shop Vashon
Friday, November 14th | 6–9pm
Official Statement from the Band:
Once again, and with a level of resignation typically reserved for airline delays and jury duty, we must inform you: Tim Couldn’t Make It. Not now. Not ever. Not even in hologram form.
This time, Tim’s absence is due to what he describes as “a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to co-author a self-help book with a sentient mushroom.” He’s currently off-grid in a yurt somewhere near Sedona, communing with fungi and refusing to answer texts unless they’re written in haiku. He sends his regards, a pinecone with googly eyes, and a firm “no” to any requests for a surprise appearance.
To clarify:
Tim will not be on stage.
Tim will not be backstage.
Tim will not be disguised as a wine barrel.
Tim will not be performing via drone.
Tim will not be hiding in Rick’s beard.
Now, about Rick. This show marks Rick’s final performance with TCMI before he embarks on his next adventure: opening a kombucha speakeasy for emotionally fragile alpacas. Yes, it’s real. No, you can’t invest. So come say goodbye before he disappears into a cloud of fermented dreams and wool.
This will be TCMI’s last show on Vashon for the foreseeable future. Unless, of course, Tim returns from his mushroom mentorship with a new sense of purpose and a working vehicle.
Important Note on Audience Conduct: Please, for the love of all that is tuneful and trauma-free: no undergarment projectiles.
Doug still wakes up screaming “BRAS!”
Bruce has developed a sixth sense for airborne lace.
Wes has a strict “no socks, no service” policy.
And Rick—well, Rick’s therapist has asked us to stop bringing it up.
The band (Doug Pine, Bruce Phares, Wes Peterson, and Rick Dahms) will perform songs about heartbreak, hope, and the kind of psychedelic confusion that only comes from eating gas station sushi in a thunderstorm. Expect to laugh, cry, and possibly adopt a new life philosophy by the second chorus.
Tim Couldn’t Make It. But you can. And you should. Seriously. Rick’s already halfway out the door.
