Wishing you all a joyous holiday season. John and I are delighted to present Northwest legends Philip and Pam Boulding for our final concert of the year.

The concert will be held on Tuesday December 9th at 7:00 p.m. at the Vashon Havurah (15401 Westside Highway SW, Vashon). Requested donation is $25 at the door. Contact Jan Strolle at 206-228-0730 or janstrolle@comcast.net to make a reservation.

With their Celtic Harp, hammered dulcimer, accordion, concertina and more, Philip and Pam of Magical strings will bring fresh energy and inspiration from their recent journey to Ireland for the special Vashon audience. Their performances include energetic arrangements of Celtic music along with their own engaging compositions (many of them inspired in Ireland) intertwining Celtic roots with classical and world music influences. They also love to share their adventures through storytelling and poetry.

The Bouldings founded Magical Strings in 1978, the same year they began the Celtic Yuletide Concerts with their family (now in its 47th season!). They have performed throughout the U.S., Canada, Ireland and Japan, toured for over 45 years, recorded 22 albums on four labels and built their own line of Celtic harps and hammered dulcimers for an international clientele. They also run the School of Magical Strings and host the Magic Hill Summer Harp Camp at their beautiful 5-acre home overlooking the Puget Sound. Being the holiday season, they might throw in a festive tune or two at tonight’s concert. They are delighted and honored to join this concert series hosted by John Whelan and Jan Strolle on Vashon Island, just and hop and skip away from their own home across Colvos Passage!
