The Wandering Kind is an indie folk and alt-country project led by Portland-based singer-songwriter Kyle J. Glenn (he/him). Blending storytelling-driven lyrics with acoustic warmth and atmospheric textures, The Wandering Kind evokes the restless spirit of travel and self-discovery. Inspired by artists like Gillian Welch, John Prine, and The Mountain Goats, the project explores themes of home, longing, and the open road. After years of traversing the U.S. and performing in Spain and Portugal, Kyle returned to Portland, where The Wandering Kind continues to craft songs that resonate with the soul-searching and the free-spirited.
