Seattle-based singer‑songwriter Jim Page is a celebrated folk musician and activist whose sharp political voice and street‑level storytelling have shaped the city’s musical identity for more than five decades. Born in 1949 and arriving in Seattle in 1971, he became a defining force in the region’s busking culture, famously persuading the Seattle City Council in 1974 to legalize street performing—a landmark victory that still echoes through Pike Place Market today. Known for his incisive protest songs, international touring, and collaborations with artists like Artis the Spoonman, Page continues to release new music, including his recent album The Time Is Now, and remains a vital presence in Seattle’s folk scene.
