Tu B’Shvat Seder:
The New Year of the Trees
with a special tree‑themed performance by Mik Kuhlman
5:00 pm • Sunday, February 1 • at the Havurah
Co‑sponsored with Vashon Climate Action Group
Tu B’Shvat, the “New Year of the Trees” (ראש השנה לאילנות), is an ancient Jewish celebration of our connection to the natural world and our responsibility as ecological stewards. We’ll gather for a festive seder—four kinds of fruits and nuts, plus stories, poems, and songs about trees.
Special Feature: A snippet of The Standing Nation
We’re delighted to welcome performing artist Mik Kuhlman, who will share a short excerpt from her piece The Standing Nation, an evocative work that invites us to experience trees as sentient, interconnected beings.
Mik Kuhlman, a celebrated Vashon‑based theatre‑maker, originally developed the piece with local collaborators and staged it in immersive forest settings.
