Mukai Farm & Garden’s 7th Annual Haiku Festival once again brings the timeless beauty of haiku (俳句) to Vashon Island. In past years, the festival has welcomed hundreds of submissions and inspired poets and readers from around the world.

Haiku on Display — Sunday, April 26, 2 PM

Our centennial celebrations continue with a joyful afternoon celebrating this year’s Haiku Festival. Gather for a live reading of poems that capture the spirit of our centennial, food, and young poets categories, and stroll the grounds to read selected haiku on display.

We’re especially excited to welcome 3rd graders from Chautauqua Elementary School, who will share a special Japanese folk dance performance choreographed by Leah Okamoto Mann.

Free and open to all—come celebrate poetry, community, and a beautiful spring afternoon at Mukai. 🌸
