Weird Music Night
Black Cat Cabaret at Snapdragon
Saturday, June 20th
6-9pm
As the longest day of the year fades into evening, the Black Cat Cabaret on Vashon Island will fill with sound unlike anything you've heard before. Weird Music Night, a free, all-ages community concert celebrating experimental and boundary-pushing music, takes place on Saturday, June 20, 2026, from 6:00 to 9:00 PM.
Experimental music is sound that refuses to stay inside the lines — it might be beautiful, abrasive, meditative, or gloriously strange, and it is made by artists more interested in discovery than convention. Weird Music Night embodies that spirit. The event will feature an eclectic roster of performers and groups whose instruments span the full spectrum of sonic possibility — from guitars, bass, and keyboards to electronic sound design and one-of-a-kind homemade instruments built by the artists themselves. Whether the music is introspective, playful, or disorienting, Weird Music Night promises an evening where the only rule is that there are no rules.
Admission is free, with a suggested donation of $5 at the door. No one will be turned away.
Weird Music Night is part of a living tradition of adventurous music in the Pacific Northwest — a region with a deep history of supporting unconventional sound, from the underground venues of Seattle to the island communities of Puget Sound. The Black Cat Cabaret on Vashon Island provides an intimate, welcoming setting for an event that invites curiosity above all else.
Performers and full schedule will be announced in the coming weeks. The Black Cat Cabaret is accessible via Washington State Ferry from the Fauntleroy terminal in West Seattle and the Point Defiance terminal in Tacoma. For more information, contact vashon.weird.music.night@gmail.com for updates.
