Concerts in the Park on Vashon Island, Washington

*** PLEASE NOTE: THE CONCERT IN THE PARK WITH ONE MORE MILE SCHEDULED FOR THURSDAY NIGHT HAS BEEN MOVED TO THIS SATURDAY, AUGUST 28TH AT 7:30PM ***

—————————————————————————————

Unfortunately, after discussing with the sound engineers and the band, we had to make the hard decision to move this show from Thursday night to this Saturday night because of the high possibility of rain later in the afternoon today. Thousands of dollars worth of sound equipment and music instruments/amps would be at risk. It may not rain, who really knows…but we can’t take that risk. We are very sorry for those of you that can’t make it on Saturday, but are hopeful that most people will be able to pivot and be there. 7:30pm, Saturday, August 28th. Thank you for your patience, understanding, flexibility & support.

August 5th - The Confessions

R&B music featuring Camille Reeves - Vocals, Christopher O’Brien - Keys, Samantha Boshnack, trumpet, Chris Credit, baritone sax, Traci Ferrara, tenor sax, Gavin Kovite - Bass, Brian Dougher - Drums

The Confessions are a versatile, mostly Vashon Island-based R&B group with a throwback sound. Gleaning from gospel, early rock 'n' roll, and sounds of the Motown era, songwriter and frontwoman Camille Reeves writes and performs original tunes that are fresh, yet familiar. For this performance, her band features three horns –Samantha Boshnack on trumpet, Chris Credit on baritone sax and Traci Ferrara on tenor sax, – and the foundation of The Confessions' sound is laid by the rhythm section: Chris O'Brien on keyboard, Gavin Kovite on bass, and Brian Dougher on drums. Bring your dancin' shoes and get ready to cut a rug!

August 12th - Saint Ophelia

Alt-folk-rock featuring Joe Panzetta - Guitar/Vocals, Rebekah Kuzma - Vocals, Dan Tyack - Pedal Steel, Chuck Keller - Bass, Wesley Peterson - Drums

The Alt Folk-Rock band, Saint Ophelia is a five-piece ensemble fronted by vocalist/guitarist Rebekah Kuzma, singer songwriter Joe Panzetta, and pedal steel magician Dan Tyack. With a killer rhythm section of Wesley Peterson on drums and Chuck Keller on bass, their original songs run the gamut from groovy to rockin’ to spacious, and seem to move through them rather than from them. They are recording their second album with producer Martin Feveyear, and crowdfunding to help pay for production and distribution costs. Visit saintophelia.com to listen to their first album, watch videos of live performances, and to help them launch album #2!

August 19 - POULTRY IN MOTION

Country-folk-cajun featuring Wilson Abbott - Dobro/Lap Steel, Steve Amsden- Guitar/Mandolin, Chris Anderson - Guitar, Gib Dammann - Drums, Bob Kueker - Bass, Dave Lang - Accordion/Fiddle/Mandolin

Poultry in Motion, a collection of molting personalities that could hardly be more diverse, do in fact share one common goal, which is: Passing a Good Time together. Best described as a “Drinking Club with a Music Problem”, our Band Charter demands only that we have a “Coop over our heads” and that rehearsals be every bit as fun as gigs. So we bring our diverse backgrounds together under cover of music and merriment with no musical theme other than stimulating dancers. Thus, when the Poultry goes into Motion and starts clucking, don your dancing shoes and prepare for anything from Country to Motown, Rockabilly to Zydeco, Rock-n-Roll to Folk-n-Rock, Cajun to Swamp Pop, plus, Original fowl compositions that may take origin from any one of the roosters in the band.

August 26 - One More Mile

Blues featuring Jason Lollar - Guitar/Vocals, Mike Nichols - Harmonica, Chuck Keller - Bass, Tony Mann - Keys, Wesley Peterson - Drums

One More Mile is a blues group from Vashon Island fronted by “The Principal” Jason Lollar (vocals/lead guitar) and “Lonesome” Mike Nichols (vocals/harmonica)- a musical brotherhood going back decades. This partnership of tone wizardry is dedicated to rocking the joint in the old school way- playing inspired original grooves and classic blues, funk, and rock and roll covers in the vein of James Cotton, Albert Collins, Little Walter and The Meters. Rounding out the band are keyboardist/ vocalist Tony Mann, bassist/ vocalist Chuck Keller and drummer/ vocalist Wesley Peterson.
