Remembrance: Felt Flower Making
Vashon Library
Sunday, January 11, 2026
1pm to 3pm

Help create a community artwork that will be on view at MOHAI! As part of the upcoming exhibit, "Tadaima: Bringing Seattle’s Boys’ and Girls’ Day Dolls Home", Vashon artist Miya Sukune will show you how to create felt flowers that will be part of a hanachozu-inspired display. Hanachozu are floral displays seen at Japanese temples and this display will be a community offering. "Tadaima" opens February 14, 2026, ahead of Day of Remembrance (February 19, 2026), honoring the Japanese Americans affected by the World War II incarceration.

Free, no registration required. Supplies provided. Come make one flower or many.
