Bruce Phares Quartet
King Tide Music
Wednesday, October 14, 7pm
Doors at 6:00pm

We couldn’t imagine a better way to kick off Jazz Night at King Tide Music.

Veteran bassist and fellow Vashonite Bruce Phares brings together an extraordinary group of longtime friends and collaborators for our inaugural King Tide Music Jazz Night: pianist Randy Halberstadt, vibraphonist Susan Pascal, and drummer Mark Ivester.

These accomplished musicians bring decades of experience, collaboration, and deep roots in the Pacific Northwest jazz scene to the King Tide stage. The evening will feature original compositions by Phares and Halberstadt alongside inspired interpretations of jazz classics. The performance is also a special preview before the quartet takes the stage at the acclaimed Seattle Jazz Fellowship on October 28.

Seattle Jazz Hall of Fame inductee Randy Halberstadt has been a major force in Northwest jazz for decades—as a pianist, composer, arranger, and mentor to generations of musicians.

Fellow Hall of Fame honoree Susan Pascal is renowned for her expressive four-mallet vibraphone playing and remarkable improvisational skill, with performances spanning the Northwest and the world.

Completing the quartet is renowned drummer Mark Ivester, a deeply respected and versatile musician who has performed with jazz greats including Michael Brecker, Freddie Hubbard, Diane Schuur, Larry Coryell, and Mose Allison.

We’re incredibly excited to welcome these four musicians to our King Tide Music stage.

Four extraordinary musicians. One intimate room. The beginning of Jazz Night at King Tide Music.
