The Lushus Lounge

Hi, I’m elcorando

I emerged in a basement in Tacoma, WA, as a late-night embellishment of the simple need for a username -- an exclamation of the intoxicating splendor of being in the middle of a cultural/technological revolution, an historical moment in time, unique and extraordinary.

That was then (1996). This is now in the "...Land of the Jane Austen 500 piece puzzle." (A. Blomgren from "Land of: A List") And, in this "Land of" we sometimes yearn for the realness of human creation, inundated as we are with the threat of annihilation-by-bot (...another happenstance of cultural/technological revolution).

On October 23 at 7pm, at Snapdragon, I am hosting The Lushus Lounge, a riff on the idea of a lounge act centered around poetry, spoken word, stand-up, and music.

If you are an islander, you may already know and love some of our performers being showcased: Adam Cone, Steffon Moody, Christopher Overstreet, Per-Lars Blomgren, Madeleine Wolczko, Ander Blomgren

We’ve given them free range to fill their time slot. So, if all goes well, we will all, as one of our performers has posited, "...probably be left with the kind of WTF that leaves one questioning assumptions, ending stale relationships and starting new careers."

Being a lounge act, feel free to dress accordingly. Dress to the nines or like it's 9pm. Your choice. Your vibe.

Oh, and BTW: I just acquired this new AI bot who will be my Co-Host. He's called Push Button Performer.

Apparently, this AI tech is friendly to humanity. It comes with a satirical bent that pokes fun at our over-dependence on digital systems and machines. You might like his words as much as the real human performers. Oh, and you can really push his buttons.
