Blessing Chimanga Brings “Light and Hope” Tour to the Pacific Northwest
Zimbabwean Marimba Maestro Debuts First U.S. Live Album
Internationally celebrated Zimbabwean marimba virtuoso Blessing Chimanga is bringing rhythm, joy, and uplifting energy to the Pacific Northwest this March with a special run of performances supporting his new live album, Light and Hope. Backed by the Bellingham-based Ukama Band, this exclusive tour marks the first official performances following the album’s release and celebrates Chimanga’s first-ever live album recorded in the United States. Recorded live in Boulder in January 2026, Light and Hope captures the spirit of Chimanga’s electrifying performances — music rooted in gratitude, resilience, and the universal desire to bring light into the world. Audiences can expect powerful, dance-driven shows that mirror the emotional energy and connection listeners will feel when experiencing the album at home.
“This tour is about sharing hope, celebrating life, and creating moments of joy together,” Chimanga says. “These songs come from a place of gratitude and love, and we want people to leave feeling uplifted.”
Joining Chimanga on tour is the Ukama Band, a dynamic family ensemble from Bellingham directed by Warner & Jodi Scheyer. Known for their vibrant rhythms and tight musical chemistry, the band brings added depth and energy to Chimanga’s signature marimba sound, creating an immersive live experience.
This run of performances is the first exclusive tour dedicated to Light and Hope since its release. Each show promises a joyful celebration of rhythm and community — audiences are encouraged to come ready to dance, connect, and share in a memorable night of music.
Tickets and event details are available through venue websites and on Blessing Chimanga’s website.
