The Vashon Island 2023 Strawberry Festival
July 14th-16th

The Vashon Strawberry Festival kicks off on Friday, July 14th with some great music by Loose Change, Adrien Xavier, Bucklin Hill and DJ Ralph Reign at the Main Stage in Vashon Village!

The Vashon Island Chamber of Commerce is proud to present the Strawberry Festival Main stage at Vashon Village, across from Ober Park! The adjacent beverage garden is open to all 21+. It features Vashon beer, cider, wine, and great new non-alcoholic options.

Dancing on the green is always open to all! And - don’t miss the Strawberry Pie Eating Contest and Strawberry Costume Contest on the main stage at the set changes. You’ll definitely want to catch the competitions at 2pm and 4pm.

The Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce the Vashon United States Postal Service mail carriers and service staff as their 2023 Strawberry Festival Grand Marshals!

We are incredibly grateful to the small but mighty and hard-working staff who put in long hours to deliver the mail on Vashon. We recognize the outsized burden placed on individual carriers and Postal staff and thank them for their service.

Meet the parade grand marshals! Vashon’s United States Postal Service Mail Carriers and Staff. Our USPS employees work on Saturday, so please join us Sunday, July 16th at 12.30pm at the Main Stage for a special ceremony honoring our postal workers!

Nestled west of Vashon uptown on Bank Road, the Vashon Heritage Museum hosts a beloved Friday tradition of a community Ice Cream Social during Strawberry Festival. The ice cream social has grown with the National recognition of our Museum and we now offer seating, lawn games, photo opportunities, and a Main Stage with live music. Island band, “The Burton Beats”, will perform tunes from oldies to modern folk rock. The family friendly community atmosphere can’t be beat. Neighbors and friends connect, families in tow, and enjoy something everyone has in common: the love of Vashon. Join us this year rain, shine — we’ll have tents to protect from heat or drizzle, 5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. Friday, July 14th, 2023. Vashon Heritage Museum, Garden of the Ancients. The Burton Beats do a fun mix of covers and their own original tunes in an acoustic style that combines blues, folk, country, a bit of jug band and even some jam band rock. The “Beats” are: Stephen Bean piano and vocals, Curt Blumer harmonica and Wilson Abbott lap steel slide guitar, acoustic guitar and vocals.

The Kitsap County Ramblers are a brand-spankin-new band making their debut on Vashon Island this festival. Sweet Jane (rhythm guitar and vocalist) and Rider Mike (drummer) are Islanders from way back. Accompanying them is Mr Warren Lubben on pedal steel, Bassman Ant laying down the low notes, and stringed instrument extraordinaire TJ Cope playing banjo and lead guitar. Come check them out and enjoy an eclectic collection of both covers and original tunes with a down-home, organic, bluesy vibe.

The Vashon Sugar Shack has FREE music all Strawberry Festival Weekend! Durong will be open with Full Bar and SUSHI. Get an alcoholic Slushie and a Sushi Roll in the Shade and listen to some of the best music of Festival!

Todd Zimberg, Chris Ferguson, Jason Lollar, Maggie Laird, Lonesome Mike Nichols and Chris Stevens is the Super Blue Jam Band and they are performing Friday night, July 14th at 8:30pm at Sporty's!

Captain Dick & The Portholes at Sporty’s, Saturday night, July 15th! A festival tradition for sure!

They will have a few pay-to-play activities and many free-to-play activities! Ping pong tables, axe throwing, bubbles, and more!

They will be displaying free family-friendly movies on their LED screen outside and will have room for you all to take a load off at their shaded tables.

Enjoy a snack from our concession stand or get a cold beer, wine or other beverages from our outdoor bar!

They also have an ADA accessible port-a-potty in The Backlot for your needs.

This is a fairs and festivals classic! Adults will be challenged to see how many mini-pies you can eat in 2 minutes - and kids will be challenged with a speed round to see who can eat one pie the fastest!

The Reptile Lady
